The horse is an icon of civilization. Or not. The way it is treated is also a sign of humanity. Sometimes they are both absent.
Both humanity and civilisation. Corneliu Sarion has been photographing them throughout his visits at the Romanian landscapes. And the results are astonishing. My first time in Vama was in 2005. I have arrived there trying to beat my monsters and demons. Didn't make it. Who does? … Since then … for six years in a row some great people pack everything up, they hit the road, and they transform the fishermen village, into a celebration of "kallos", of companionship, of life itself (vslo.ro) - Michail It was my daughter, a young athletic dancer herself, which brought me into the stadiums where the dancers compete. The first time was in 2008, at "Acropolis Open", in Athens. Since then, DanceSport events have been a chance for me to explore in a photographic way this special kind of people, capturing moments of their backstage activities. "The Dancers" is a work in progress. (Photos: Stavros Stamatiou)
