Two pictures have retained our attention for this selection and for a good reason:
Surrealism is best serving photography when dreams become nightmares. Vassilis Vasileiou's picture (March photo of the month) is an incomplete life in an incomplete body thrown on the theatrical stage of the departed, of the deceased. In other words there is a major contradiction between the playful young girl and the decay of an elderly bedroom.
Gökhan Arer's photograph uses some of the established ingredients of street photography like layering, juxtaposition and perspective to obtain a well balanced candid moment. Add to this the allegory of the solitary individual in a vast metropolis and the result is a powerful story.
