Simone Mantia
I was born in 1980 and grew up in Livorno, Italy, a seaside town on the Tyrrhenian sea. I graduated in Engineering in Pisa and I currently work for an engineering company in Lucca.
I discovered photography thanks to my brother and I begun to shoot landscapes and portraits.
I always loved B&W photography, especially the work in the dark room as films development and the paper prints.
After a break, in 2017 I came across street photography and it fascinates me to portray scraps of life and as a means of communication. I don't think I have a fixed style to describe what my eyes see. For now I am only interested in telling about the beauty and the extraordinary that lie behind everyday life.
In 2018 I was a finalist at BSPF (Brussels Street Photography Festival) and at MSPF (Miami Street Photography Festival).
In 2019 I was finalist at ImagOrbetello competition, Portrait category.
In 2019 I received the honorable mention at the Urban Photo Awards, Streets category.
